From new wheel and rim parts to seamless repairs
Our new wheels are manufactured using an interlocking weld preparation system to ensure 100% alignment of sections to tolerances <0.25mm. This is four times more accurate than the maximum allowable misalignment specified in AS1554.5.
We ensure 100% concentricity to tolerances < 1.0mm, using bead seat bands, gutter sections and back sections manufactured from the highest quality ‘ring rolled’ material. This also eliminates the join or ‘butt weld’ common in other manufacturers’ products.
All seamless repair sections are manufactured with additional length to ensure 100% of the existing section weld and heat affected zones are completely removed before the replacement section is fitted. This means the overall length of the wheel or rim being repaired isn’t compromised.
Ensuring the quality of our wheel and rim parts
The new wheels and rims we supply, and the repairs we make, are all subject to post-welding MPI inspection, UT inspection or x-ray, thereby ensuring 100% compliance with AS1554.5.
Our in-house MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) testing is conducted to AS1171 (as referred to in AS4457.2007) by trained and experienced personnel, supervised by professionals qualified to AS3998-2006 / ISO9712:2005 and certified by the Australian Institute for Non Destructive Testing (AINDT).
